Festival face paint and glitter stations are available on site — drop by the Make-Up Bar in the Arts Village to get an expert makeover before hitting the stage. Biodegradable glitter is provided free of charge. Our photo booths make the perfect backdrop for capturing your festival look.

Prohibited Items
These items will be confiscated at entry. Do not bring them.
Professional cameras with lenses over 10cm
Press accreditation required for professional equipment. Compact cameras and smartphones are fine.
Drones or UAVs of any kind
Drone flights are strictly prohibited over the festival site. All drones will be confiscated and may result in removal from the festival.
Glass bottles, glass containers, or mirrors
Broken glass poses a serious safety risk on the beach and grass. All glass will be confiscated at the gate. Bring a reusable plastic or metal bottle instead.
Outside alcohol or illegal substances
Outside alcohol is not permitted. Illegal drugs are prohibited under Japanese law — possession may result in arrest. We use drug detection dogs at entry.
Fireworks, flares, or pyrotechnics
No fireworks, sparklers, flares, signal pistols, or any pyrotechnic devices. Fire safety and Japanese law prohibit these items.
Laser pointers or laser devices
Laser pointers can cause permanent eye damage to performers and other attendees. Strictly prohibited.
Large umbrellas (diameter over 60cm)
Compact folding umbrellas are fine. Large golf-style umbrellas or beach umbrellas block sightlines for fellow attendees. Please leave large umbrellas at home.
Weapons of any kind
Knives, blades, firearms, or any item capable of being used as a weapon are prohibited. Security staff will conduct bag checks at entry.
Megaphones or electronic amplification devices
Personal megaphones, air horns, and electronic amplification devices (other than personal hearing aids) are not permitted.
Selfie sticks and telescopic poles
Selfie sticks and poles are not permitted in stage areas as they obstruct other attendees' views and can cause injury in crowds.
Pets (except registered assistance animals)
We love pets, but the festival environment is not safe for animals. Registered guide dogs and assistance animals with relevant documentation are always welcome.
Permitted Items
These items are welcome on site. Pack smart and have fun!
Reusable water bottles (non-glass)
Metal, plastic, or silicone bottles welcome. Free refill stations throughout the venue. Stay hydrated — it's essential in August.
Sunscreen and insect repellent
Sun protection is strongly encouraged. Any size permitted. Free sunscreen application stations are also located throughout the venue.
Small bags and backpacks
Bags up to 30L are welcome. All bags will be checked at entry for prohibited items. Bag check service is available if you need to store large items.
Compact cameras (lens under 10cm)
Point-and-shoot cameras, compact mirrorless, and film cameras with standard lenses are fine. Enjoy documenting your experience!
Prescription medication (declared at entry)
Please carry in original labelled packaging and declare at the entry gate. A doctor's note or prescription copy is helpful if asked.
Earplugs
Hearing protection is encouraged near large stages. Disposable earplugs are also available for free at the Info Booth and Medical Station.
Snacks and non-alcoholic drinks
Small personal snacks and sealed non-alcoholic beverages (under 500ml, non-glass) are permitted. No outside alcohol.
Camping equipment (camping ticket holders only)
Tents, sleeping bags, chairs, and standard camping equipment are welcome in designated camping zones for camping ticket holders.
Festival flags and banners (non-commercial)
Personal, handmade flags and banners are encouraged as long as they're not blocking sightlines for other attendees. No commercial advertising or soliciting.
Face paint, body glitter, costumes, and festival attire
All non-offensive costume and fashion choices are welcome. Our Make-Up Bar in the Arts Village can enhance your look on arrival.

👟 Practical Tips

What to Wear on Your Feet

Shonan Beach terrain includes sand, grass, and wooden pathways. Footwear makes a huge difference to your festival experience — especially after rain.

  • Trainers / sneakers (most common choice)
  • Waterproof boots for potential rain days
  • Flip-flops for beach stage area only
  • Bring a spare pair — mud happens!
  • High heels (not suitable for terrain)
